2008 CCLA Championship Tournament

Location: Saline, Michigan
Date: Friday May 2nd through Sunday May 4, 2008


Important information for fans and players:
Division 1:
The top three teams from both the North and South regions qualify for the Division 1 CCLA Playoffs.

Quarter Finals
South #2 (Pittsburgh) vs North #3 (Central Michigan) at 4:30pm
North #2 (Michigan State) vs South #3 (Purdue) at 7:30pm

Semi-Finals
North #1 (Michigan) vs winner of South #2 vs North #3 at 1:00pm
South #1 (Buffalo) vs winner of North #2 vs South #3 at 4:00pm

Finals
Two winners will play for the CCLA Division 1 Championship

Division 2:
The top two teams from both the North and South regions qualify for the Division 2 CCLA Playoffs.

Semi-Finals
South #1 (Dayton) vs North #2 (Calvin)
North #1 (Grand Valley) vs South #2 (Grove City)

Finals
Two winners will play for the CCLA Division 2 Championship



Locker Rooms:
Teams will have access to locker rooms at both stadiums. A CCLA Site Manager will provide escort. Showers are available - bring your own towels. Access to the locker rooms will be available 90 minutes prior to the start of the first game of each day.

Welcome Packages:
The CCLA Board has made arrangements for each team to receive a box full of rewards to each team who successfully makes it to the conference championship tournament. These packages will be provided to Coaches as teams arrive on Friday and Saturday.

Concessions:
Saline High School, Booster Clubs will be providing concessions at each game throughout the tournament.

Parking:

Game Operations:
Teams are required to bring at least one scorebook keeper. The large screen reply will be used for the Friday night games.

Each facility will have a CCLA Site Manager assisting the game announcers, and will facilitate standing up the official clock coordinator.

Announcers:
Press Box/Video Taping: Each competing team may station cameras in the Press Box during their game. These personnel will be issued press credentials.

Trainers:
Local trainers will be available at each field 90 minutes prior to and during each game located under the blue tent near the center field area.

Uniforms:
Teams are required to bring dark and light uniforms. The higher seeded team wears the light uniforms. Where teams are the same seed, the higher nationally ranked team wears light uniforms (this will be coordinated with the CCLA Site Manager). The same procedure will utilized for the choice of team benches.

Awards Presentations:
During each Division championship/consolidation game the announcement and presentation of awards will be made at half time.

Players receiving awards voted on by conference coaches are highly encouraged to be present to receive their awards.

Registrar approved Eligibility Check:
All teams in Playoffs must hand a copy of your registrar approved eligibility check dated between 4/23-5/3 to opposing team for EVERY playoff game and you MUST hand carry the original to Owen Blank.
